Wedding Transportation
Your Carriage Awaits
Wedding day transportation is not simply about getting from Point
A to Point B. You want to have some fun, express yourself and leave
details to others. A great ride can also yield photo opportunities,
a victory lap around town, and a great entrance and/or exit. Plus,
it never hurts to have a designated driver. If there is ever a day
in your life where you deserve to splurge on special transportation,
this is it!
Carriages
What could be more romantic than arriving at your wedding ceremony
in a horse drawn wedding carriage? At some locations, the carriage
can even drop you right at the foot of the aisle! Definitely check
out this option - the cost is similar to hiring a limo and carriages
are now able to service any location in the Central Coast. Just
be sure to discuss your ceremony and reception locations and dates
with your carriage provider so that any access/coordination issues
are identified and addressed early. Also discuss photo opportunities
with both the carriage operator and your photographer - many wonderful
photos can be taken with your carriage as a focal point. If possible,
hire the carriage for additional time so that wedding guests (especially
the children) may take a short spin with the carriage or to simply
have their photos taken in it. Make sure you meet your specific
driver, horse(s), and the carriage that will be used for your ceremony.
And consider a bit of wedding decoration for the carriage and the
horse!
Limousines
Wedding Limousines offer spaciousness, privacy, and luxury. Unlike
a car, there is room for a wedding gown as well as all of your bridal
party. A useful option is to have the Bride and her Attendants arrive
at the ceremony site in the limo. After the ceremony, the Bride
and Groom ride from the ceremony to the reception savoring a few
moments alone between the vows and the party. Limo packages often
offer champagne, a red carpet service and tasteful exterior decoration.
Vintage limos are also available - and what a stunning transportation
option this is. The Central Coast has a beautifully restored vintage
limo available that was once owned by a 1930's movie star! Discuss
photo ops, logistics and timing with your photographer.
Helicopters
As wedding transportation goes, a horse drawn carriage is most romantic
and a limo is most popular. But when you really want to make an
entrance, you simply cannot beat the helicopter! As with the carriage,
helicopter cost is similar to a limo. Helicopter use may be restricted
due to weather or site logistics, so be sure to discuss the possibilities
with your site coordinator and the helicopter company. Also discuss
photo ops with both the operator and your photographer.
Valet Parking & Shuttle
Bus/Vans
Some ceremony and reception sites are conducive to valet parking.
This is a great convenience for your guests. Have your valet company
visit your site to ensure that their service will be practical.
Many valet services offer additional services too, such as shuttle
vans and security guards. Shuttle vans are a great option for sites
with limited parking. Additionally, if you have a large amount of
out of town guests staying at a central location/area, the shuttle
van or bus can be not only transportation but a great designated
driver. When the reception is over, everyone simply rides the bus
back to their hotel, thus avoiding the potential for driving under
the influence.
Other Transportation Options
If you have a number of out of area guests, you may want to organize
a chauffeured winery tour. This is a nice outing for guests, getting
them acquainted with the beauty of the Central Coast. Plus it gives
relatives a chance to catch up and soon to be in-laws an opportunity
to meet and get to know each other. Group transportation is also
ideal for the Rehearsal Dinner.
