Bachelorette
and Bachelor Parties
Bachelor and bachelorette parties are celebrations of one leaving
behind the single life to join in marital bliss. They constitute
a last good-bye of sorts and are usually held one to two weeks prior
to the big day (a few have tried to have such celebrations after
the big day, but they didn't go over so well). Generally, the groom's
party is organized by the best man, and the bride's party is organized
by the maid or matron of honor. The most important thing to remember
in either case is to respect the wishes of the honored guest.
When planning the party, whether it is a quiet gathering or a night
out on the town, use your imagination and be creative. Restaurants
and hotels are available to provide a suitable ambiance for the
occasion; on the other hand, a private get together at a friend's
home may be more intimate and cost effective. If a night on the
town is more your style, comedy clubs, dancing, concerts, or a weekend
in Las Vegas might be your choice of entertainment.
Your choice of transportation can help make the
event even more memorable. Whether there will be drinking or not,
having a limousine service will add that special touch and provide
an additional measure of safety. Designated drivers are
another smart option.
Gifts may also be appropriate for the bride or groom. These gifts
are usually gag gifts, lingerie, or something for the honeymoon.
Whatever the party, whatever the gift, be sure it is planned with
the personality and style of the guest of honor in mind.
