Kristin & Christopher

Kristin & Christopher's Wedding Details
Their Story
Kristin and Chris are a classic sweet young couple from Templeton, CA. They started dating in 2005 and were married in Paso Robles, CA on April 4, 2009.
How They Met:
Kristin first laid eyes on Christopher in Fall of 2004 at a job interview. That’s right, he was interviewing her for a job! No pressure there. Well, she DID get the job and over time, she and Chris became good friends. Eventually Kristin recognized her feelings for Chris were stronger than that and their friendship blossomed into a three and a half year romance.
The Proposal:
Leave it to a man to hide the intent to propose within a trip to San Francisco to watch the Raiders whoop up on the Chargers! Well ok, they were also there to celebrate the arrival of the arrival of the New Year of 2008. While Kristin was doing some general shopping downtown, Chris was doing some shopping of his own – shopping for the engagement ring!
When Kristin and Chris broke from their big ole New Year’s kiss at midnight, Kristin noticed everyone staring and grinning at them. Needless to say, Kristin found this staring kind of creepy. Then Chris started asking her questions. “Did you have a good year?” Well yes, answered Kristin. “Is there anything that would make the New Year a better one?" Before Kristin could answer, he whipped out the ring box, opened it and let her get a gander at the shiny ring inside. Kristin was surprised. So much so that she simply sat there, alternately staring at him and the ring with her mouth open. Finally, Chris had to snap her out of her trance with a nervous “So what are you going to answer? Will you marry me?" Well we all know what happened next, Kristin said yes, kissed him and cried.
Their Wedding
Ceremony & Reception Site:
Beautiful Villa Toscana in Paso Robles was chosen as the site for both the wedding ceremony and reception. After shopping at 18 wedding venues (yes, eighteen!), the bride and groom decided this was the perfect location for them.
Photography:
Kristin & Christopher met Katie DiSimone Photography at a Central Coast Bride wedding faire and were impressed with Katie’s artistic talent. Katie shared many of the technical aspects of photography with them, which cinched the deal with Engineer Kristin.
Music & Master of Ceremonies:
Kristin secured the services of Kramer Entertainment to provide music for both the ceremony and reception. Additionally, DJ Beau also served as the Master of Ceremonies for all reception activities. The couple were very impressed with how Beau helped them find the perfect song for each part of the wedding, plus how he seemed to magically select just the right songs for each part of the dancing portion of the reception.
Catering:
This couple has some serious foodies in their family, so selecting the right caterer was key. They found that the incredible food and service that Popolo’s Catering provides was just what they were looking for. Kristin & Christopher had high praise for Leon and his staff.
Coordination:
Kristin is thankful that she hired a day-of coordinator. Being an engineer, Kristin is very organized and analytical and knows how to put together detailed plans for major projects. In fact, Kristin conducted thorough research regarding every aspect of her wedding and documented the results in a spreadsheet, which she used to make her wedding decisions. But engineers know when they need to subcontract work out to others (i.e., a Coordinator) when their own time is required elsewhere (i.e., saying "I Do", taking photos and mingling with guests). Kristin hired Mary Allegreta, who did a fabulous job of keeping everything and everyone at the ceremony and reception in line and on time.
The Rest of The Story:
The Rest Of The Story: Kristin and Chris are an amazing team! While Kristin is great at doing all of the research and documentation, she finds it difficult to make the final decisions. Chris was better able to make the decisions based on all of the data that Kristin gathered. The family was intimately involved in many aspects of the wedding. In particular, Kristin’s mom brought a long standing family hobby into the wedding. Kristin’s great grandmother passed down her enormous salt and pepper shaker collection to Kristin’s mom. Kristin and Chris picked out their favorite sets for use at the dining tables at the wedding banquet. Those used included cowboy boots, his and her outhouses, an old couple, elephants, fish and flowers. What a special touch all the way from her great grandmother!
Congratulations to this new couple as they begin their happily ever after!
